Oh dear...I don't know when I can start dancing Zumba again. I really need to do that soon. I gained weight from all the boxes of chocolate from the holidays you know. My husband brought me those Caramel Chocolate from Maui and I just could not resist. They were so tempting and I blame myself for not having the discipline. I don't think I am too fat but I hate my mid-section. I need to tone it up. It is a good thing that it is still winter because I can just cover them up with bulky coats.
Another thing that I need to do again is to go to the Chiropractic clinic. I need to see my chiropractor soon because my neck is getting stiffed. This is from sitting all day in front of the computer at work 40 hours a week. Sigh* It is getting annoying actually. I bet Dr. Paul is going to ask me where I've been.
I wish you all have a great week. Be safe!

Oh...dear. I broke my diet. I have been very inconsistent with my exercise routine and then the calories tonight. Ahhhh...oh well.

Getting Back Into Shape Again
Posted by Jojo at 11:47 PMI got sick for a month (cough, cold, headaches from the sinus pressure, etc) so I stopped dancing Zumba. When I stopped, my husband stopped too. He does not dance the Zumba beat without me so that's what happened. We just got back to the routine this week and I think I am getting lazy. That is not good. I know I have to be more consistent but it is really hard after being sick for so long. I hope my husband and I can continue dancing for as long as we can handle it.

My Weight
Posted by Jojo at 6:11 PMI lost some weight from Zumba Dance and high protein drinks!
I searched my drawer looking for some short pants just because I wanted to wear shorts. It had been really really hot and humid. I found an old pair which I bought in Hawaii. I thought the shorts were too small. I tried them on anyway just out of curiosity. They fit on me. I was surprised. The shorts size? SIZE 2.
I have been dancing the Zumba beat with my husband this past weeks. We have been dancing at nights. (It is actually nice to have a partner with this kind of stuff.) Just search Zumba in the search engine if you don't know what that is. They have the latin dances and some African beats. The dance steps are actually fun.
To compliment with my dance fitness, I bought some protein drinks like the Special K shakes. I just wanted to lose a few pounds and try those drinks. They are actually pretty good. I bring one to work every morning as a good start for the day. It keeps me from getting hungry.
What I am concentrating now is the toning of my core area. I don't care too much about my weight anymore...just the flabby area in my belly (from the 2 pregnancies).
If you want to lose just a few pounds, maybe you should try the Zumba and drinking high protein drinks. Maybe it'll work for you too.

My Road To A Healthy Diet
Posted by Jojo at 4:27 PM
My wonderful husband made a delicious salad for us today. I was just sitting around doing nothing but surfing on the net. He got up from bed and started making the salad. I was like "Wow". I should do something like that first thing in the morning after getting up from bed. I should always start a day with a healthy meal.
He had avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese, carrots and cucumber all chopped up nicely. He also cooked some steak. I got hungry and it really was inviting. I am the kind of girl who eats junk food and ignores the salad most of the time. But, after seeing the bowl of precious veggies, I was so excited to get my own plate and grabbed the Italian dressing. I ate like a hungry elephant but I was not worried about fat or calories. I ate with a smile.
The Road to Weightlessness or to a healthy diet for me had just started. Others blog about their journey to lose weight or keep healthy to be in the right track. My husband just started my journey for me with just a simple gesture today. Hopefully, I can stay in this journey he started.

How to make yourself thin?
Posted by Jojo at 2:27 AMMy mother-in-law and I were watching the TV show "I can make you thin" at TLC. It is very interesting because the host, Paul McKenna, taught the viewers about these easy 4 golden rules.
If you want to lose weight, you must follow them.
1. When you are hungry, EAT. - That will certainly starts your metabolism.
2. Eat what you want. - Hmmm....this sounds crazy but you must follow rule no. 3.
3. Eat consciously. - Eat slow and enjoy the food. Eat, put the fork and spoon back to the table, chew the food for 20 seconds, then pick the fork and spoon for food again.
4. When you are full, STOP. - When you eat fast, your brain won't sense right away that your tummy is full. You must follow rule no. 3 so you feel full tummy sooner.
I need to watch him again next week. He will talk about emotional eating. I sometimes eat sweets when I am depressed and that is not a good thing. I should not miss this episode.
My son told me to sit on a dump truck for a six pack abs. Somehow, I doubt that.

How to get a fabulous abs in 3 weeks
Posted by Jojo at 10:59 PMI have been wanting to have a good looking abs. I do not want the rock looking abs. I just want to tone it. I am skinny already so my tummy is not so bad. I want to make it toned as much as I can but exercising too much gives me a no-ass-at-all syndrome. Is there any way that I can get both the toned abs and a nice behind?
I do not really weigh myself that often. I just do not want to see the numbers. It annoys me.
My baby goes to the scale for me. That way I only see the low numbers.
I actually found four good steps to flatten the abs. They are a little bit hard to maintain but if you are really determined to reach the goal then you can have fab abs in just three weeks they say.
1. Double-Leg Stretch - This is not that easy to do. You have to have a strong mid section I think. I tried it once and my tummy hurt the next day.
2. Crisscross - This is very hard. I can only do this for a minute. I am very weak. I need to do this more to have a stronger core.
3. Swimming - This is easy. You lie facedown and move like you were swimming. Lift your left arm and your right leg together and vice versa. Everytime you lift them, count from 1 to 5. This is fun.
4. Teaser - I fell to the side the first time I did it. I am not strong enough. I need to do this more.
Click on the hyperlinks to see the pictures for illustration. Also check the Pilates website that I like. Just search these words and click the first link below search results. They provide a step by step guide for newbies.

Are you sexy?
Posted by Jojo at 11:56 PM
What is sexy by the way? Do we have to be as thin as a run-way model to be sexy? What would you feel if you received this award?
In the Philippines, I remember being called sexy because I wore a very nice outfit or I looked pretty with my clothes. I also remember that being thin (no layered fat on the belly) is sexy.
When I got here in US, sexy means big boobs and nice boodies. When you look good in your bathing suit then you are sexy. When you see a nice bag or a nice hat, sometimes we say: "Oh, that is sexy!". I remember my nephew who got in trouble in school because he said the word "sexy".
What is sexy? According to the Encarta.msn.com dictionary, sexy means voluptuously sensual in appearance or behavior ( informal ). So I guess, all the situations that I mentioned above fit. I do not know what my nephew said in school but he got in trouble and is not allowed to say that word anymore.
Are you sexy? If you are then grab this award, print it, frame it and show it to your friends.

Losing Weight After Pregnancy
Posted by Jojo at 12:07 AMOne morning, I tried to weigh myself. I was just curious about how much pounds I gained overnight. I was 3 months pregnant then. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw a different face. My face was chunky. Oh no, I am gaining weight....fast.
I asked my husband if he still loves me. And of course, he always said "yes". I was always worried that I might not loose the baby fat I was gaining. So one night, I asked my husband if we could go to a gym and exercise everyday. He needed to loose weight anyway, he thought, so we decided to register at YMCA.
We started to walk a lot, swim for an hour, and use our favorite machine "eleptical". Of course, I did my exercise like what a pregnant woman should do- 'exercise very carefully'. It was a very nice feeling. It gave me a lot of energy especially at work.
In 7 months, I gained 40 pounds. Well, that was good because that means my baby was growing normally but my face was also chunky.
Labor time was great because the pain only lasted for 4 hours but it was a normal delivery and no epidural. So when I said pain, meaning very painful. There was nothing that I could do because it was very quick and I was too late for an epidural.
Having the baby in my arms erased all the pains and troubles in my mind. I held the most beautiful baby in my world. He was 7 lbs and 11 oz.in weight and 21 inches in height. I did good. I was proud.
When I was 9 months pregnant, I was 160lbs. After six months of breastfeeding, I was 124lbs. I was really wondering. Did the breastfeeding helped me loose weight? or did the exercise while pregnant helped me loose the pounds like a click after the baby was born? I really do not know. Maybe both.
