My husband, our kids and I went to this neighborhood to buy three bags of used 2T clothes for our little girl. I found the ad on Craigslist. I thought the deal was great so I told the ad poster that I'd buy them. The clothes were still nice so I was happy with it.
I really don't know if we can afford to buy girls clothing nowadays. My little boy has lots of hand-me-down clothes from his cousins so I don't have a problem with him. My growing daughter's clothing however is my concern. I thought maybe I'd buy children's clothes from Goodwill or Craigslist just to save money. Unfortunately, it is hard to find clothes for her age plus she is petite. I also don't want her to wear used clothes all the time.
Do you know of a children's clothing Website that you can recommend? Thank you in advance.

Little Girl Fell Off The Bed Again
Posted by Jojo at 11:43 AMMy little girl fell off the bed when she was less than a year old. She cried really hard because it probably scared her. Last night, she fell off the bed again. Our bed is not that high from the carpet. She fell down on her head first and then went to her back. She screamed for a moment and then stopped. She then rolled to her tummy and started kicking but no screaming. I went to pick her up and I saw her eyes closed and just not crying or anything at all. I thought that was unusual for her not to cry because she usually cries her lungs out. I started patting her back and called her name but she wouldn't open her eyes. I saw that she was breathing so I was not sure what was going on with her. I held her up and called her name again but she was still acting like she was asleep. I started to look for my cellphone while I was talking to her and touching her head for any signs of trauma. I could not find any red marks, cuts or bumps. She opened her eyes and then just hugged me. I went to get the flashlight and pointed the light to her pupils and the movements were alright. After that, she wanted out of my arms and started playing.
I was not sure what happened. Was she just acting or embarrassed so she closed her eyes and acted like she was asleep or was there something more serious? I don't know. Right now, she is playing with her brother and she is acting like normal.

My Little One
Posted by Jojo at 9:43 PMMy 19 month old girl just got a new big girl bed. It is very pretty especially with the Tinkerbell comforter and some pillows on it. She loves it. My only problem is she has the freedom to get out of bed anytime now even in the middle of the night. She thinks she can just get down and don't go to sleep.
Tonight, I had a hard time keeping her in bed. She got down three times carrying her favorite pillow and blanket and was calling my name. I kept telling her that she needs to stay in bed and go night night. She was so sweet though. She'd say OK after I'd tell her to go to sleep.

On Baby Gates
Posted by Jojo at 12:14 AMOne day while at my mother in law’s house, my nephew and son left the baby gate to downstairs open. They forgot that my daughter had been getting curious about the steps and more and more adventurous with each day. Normally by this time she was pretty good about turning around and lying on her belly and going down the stairs the way that toddlers do. This day however, she would try it the way mommy and daddy did. She was going to go down standing up. She did pretty well until the fourth stair down. She stumbled and ended up with her head and hands on the 5th step down and her feet still on the fourth. Luckily my husband was already downstairs, and he knew that where Jaycob and Mikey are Gabby is soon to follow. He wandered over to the stairs just in time to see her catch herself. Sometimes I really worry about my husband. He said this was one of the funniest things he had ever seen. I guess the look on her face was priceless. He did manage to compose himself long enough to get up to her and pick her up before she went head over heels down about 10 more steps.
I guess my mom has one of those Extra Wide Baby Gates. It is meant to be a pressure gate, but we simply extend it as far as it will go and place it across the steps to downstairs. The way we used to gate and the way it was designed were not exactly the same, and it potentially caused great harm to our daughter by doing so. Normally we are careful about those things, but this time the warning label was made just for us. Baby proofing your home only works if you do not cut corners. You should only use the products as they are intended.
As great as the baby gates are, having a four year old and an 18 month old I can honestly say these gates even when used correctly are just not durable enough for my destructive duo. If I had it all to do over again I would go with something much more rugged and durable...pet gates. I am pretty sure if these pet gates can keep a Doberman off your couch, they can keep your kiddies off the stairs.
God Bless!
Christmas Program
Posted by Jojo at 12:00 AMI am so excited. My 4-year old son is going to have a Christmas program at school tomorrow. I can't wait. I think they are going to sing Christmas songs on the stage. It would be very very cute. I am charging my batteries for my camera so I can take pictures and videos. I hope he won't get too scared on the stage. We will see.

Kids Wrestling
Posted by Jojo at 8:15 PMMy kids were wrestling on the floor. My daughter is only 18 months old and she was fighting against a four year old boy. (Lol) She is such a toughie. My son was having a hard time being gentle with her but they were having a great time together. I love it when they are happy.
After a while of playing, my son kicked my daughter's face accidentally (Oh-uh). Nobody cried but we stopped their fight. It was time for bed anyway.

Son's Birthday
Posted by Jojo at 11:07 AMIt is my son's birthday today. We did not plan anything big at all. I greeted him "Happy Birthday" this morning and he just kind of shrugged it off. He already had a little celebration at school and at his grandma's house so he thinks his birthday celebration is done. He already picked out his toys at the store. He picked big toy trucks and a car (fire truck, tow truck and a police cruiser). He really liked them.
My husband and I are planning to buy him some treats tonight. He loves ice cream and smoothies so that's what we will surprise him with. Oh, I love my son. He is growing so fast.

Gross!!!
Posted by Jojo at 9:40 PMI put my kids together in the bath tub for their night time bath. I let them play in there for a while with just a little water in the tub. My son loves to play with his toys in the tub while my daughter loves to irritate him. My son was quiet so I thought they were okay until my son called me and said he was finished. I ran to the bathroom to get his towel and to check on my daughter because she sounded like she was terrified. Well, I discovered that she pooped in the tub. She was scared of her own poop. That was funny. And, my son probably got out of the tub as soon as he saw the floaties. Ewww...gross!
My daughter learned the words "gross" and "ew" tonight. She did. Lol. The situation was actually not that bad because my son did that twice when he was younger so I was a little bit prepared. Kind of. :) We have not had any plumbing issues as of yet so I guess I was doing the right thing.
My husband asked my son if he still wanted to play in the tub and he said yes. So, he really was not finished when he called me. I could not blame him. Who would want to swim with a yucky poop?

Ranting About School and Other Stuff
Posted by Jojo at 8:31 PMMy son started his preschool yesterday. I was so excited because he could finally meet other kids his age. I was not there with him during his first day because I had to work but his grandma was there for him. (Grandmas are great!) His grandma told me that he was doing really good except just one time that he screamed when he was asked to sit down.
I just wonder if there are any kid uniforms that we need to purchase for him for school. I forgot if they mentioned that at the orientation. I scanned the parents manual and I don't see a kid's uniforms section. Ah...I am just too tired to read right now.
Speaking of uniforms, I just saw these scrubs tops in different colors. Nice. Anyways, thank you for stopping by again in my blog and for reading my rants. Have a great day!

Some People Have Nothing To Say
Posted by Jojo at 8:01 PMI got a comment in one of my blogs stating that I should delete one of the posts (I talked about the joy of being a mother in that post.). Really? Who are you to tell me what to write and what to feel. I love being a mother and I love my kids. Uurrrgghhh...I am sorry if you are a loser but that post will remain.

DOVE® Ice Cream “My Mini Moment” Contest
Posted by Jojo at 12:29 PMThis is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dove Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.
Other than chocolates, ice cream is one of my weaknesses. My husband likes ice cream and buys them when we are grocery shopping without hesitations. One of the best ice creams I've tried is the ice cream from Dove.
At just 70 calories each piece, Dove Ice Cream Miniatures spotlight delicious ice cream covered in real Dove chocolate. The new tempting Café Collection presents Java Chip and Cappuccino Flavors.
The importance of “Me-time” for the Dove consumers prompted DOVE® Ice Cream Miniatures to conduct an important survey. Over 400 mothers were surveyed and an astounding 70% of them are taking time for themselves each day. The above contest celebrates those cherished and admired moments.
Everyone has their own idea of favorite mini-escape moment. My favorite is the Spa treatment or services. DOVE® Ice Cream Miniatures has given you a chance to choose one of three indulgent choices.
Have a blessed day!

On Playing Online Games
Posted by Jojo at 5:15 PM
Online games are so addicting. Trust me I know how addicting they are. I was an online gamer and I used to play Dominoes at Yahoo games and I could not stop myself from playing. Once I started, I got hooked up. I would play all night long with other online players. It was fun because I liked the competition however it wasted a lot of my time.
With Facebook which was one of my most frequent sites, playing online games was hard to resist. I used to play Bejeweled so much that I would go to bed really late. I would play and play until I'd get tired. Fortunately, I realized that my time should not be spent on playing online games. I should put more time to my kids' love tank and time bank. Also, I showed a bad behavior to my son who also likes to play games at Sprout, an interactive site for kids. (I'd rather have him play with his toys than online.)
Those addicting sites like funbrain, popcap, and yahoo games are already out in my bookmark links. I hope and pray that I don't type their sites in the browser anymore. I have too little time and I have two growing precious kids waiting for my time.

How To Clean A Baby Girl's Genital Area?
Posted by Jojo at 9:31 PMI am not posting this to give an advice. I am the one who is asking the question. I am afraid to irritate my baby's genital area. Sometimes I think I overdo it. Sometimes I get too busy that I think I leave her area dirty. How much is too much cleaning?
As you can see, my first baby is a boy and boys are easy to clean down there. Girls are different and I am still learning about cleaning the genital part gently. Haaayyy...it is one of those things that I need to study and learn. Good thing there is a place called Google.
P.S. If you have some tricks and simple advice, you are more than welcome to leave a comment here. I would appreciate it.

Being A Mother
Posted by Jojo at 10:41 PMI remember being mad at my mother a lot when I was younger because I could not get something I ask or wanted. I would not talk to her or listen to her words. I'd just go to my bed or sulk in the corner. Isn't it hard to deal with them (mothers)?
Well...look who I am now. I am a mother of two- a boy and a girl. Two different kids with different personalities. Two different challenges in my hands. Who knows what is going to happen next?
I believe that your kids will treat you the same way you treated your mother when your were younger. Ahhh...I hope I was not too bad to her. I hope I did not hurt her feelings too much. I know though that she still loves me. And I love her, too.

What happened?
Posted by Jojo at 1:34 AMI am not sure what happened today. I was just taking my time and taking care of my kids, a 2 year old and a month old infant, when my feelings got messed up. I started crying and feeling down. I felt like I was alone and wished I could do something more other than staying in the house. I have no idea what did it. Am I just stressed out? or do I have the baby blues symptoms?
My husband, thank goodness, has patience and understands me. He knew what I was going through probably and asked me if I needed time alone. Of course, I took the opportunity and said yes. He brought the kids to my mother-in-law's house and spent time there with family. I was left alone in the house and tried to enjoy the quiet time. It was nice. It renewed something which I still do not know what. I took a nap on the couch and then took a nice hot shower afterward. It felt great.
I hope it won't happen again or at least not often. It is not good that I am feeling something that I can not explain. Well, I am still adjusting to a new life which is a mother of two...challenging actually.

Lucky and Thankful
Posted by Jojo at 7:26 PMI thank God for helping me pushed the baby on May 14th, 2009. This is my second baby and my second vaginal delivery.
My first delivery was very hard because I chose to not get an epidural. I had two challenges: pain; and pushing hard. Thankfully, I did not forget my Lamaze lessons.
My second delivery was great compared to the first one. I decided to receive an epidural. The positive experiences were: snoring while having contractions which means no pain at all; and I was able to focus on pushing the baby out which only took 20 minutes. The negative experiences were: dizziness and vomiting maybe because of the anesthesia; and not being able to walk for 5 hours after the delivery.
Ahhhhhh!!! What can I say? I won't change this for the world. What a great feeling after seeing her for the first time.

Whooaaa!!!
Posted by Jojo at 12:24 PMMy eyes....they are tired. My normal shift is 12pm-9pm. I chose that shift because it works for everybody---myself so I can sleep in, my husband so he can cuddle more with me, my son so he can see me more in the morning and my mother-in-law so she can spend more time just for herself before babysitting my son. It works for 10 months.
This week I work 8am-5pm to give my co-worker back a favor. My body has a hard time adjusting. My eyes are still trying to sleep in the morning and my head is just painful. My husband said he is the Mr. Mom today because I did not do anything at home from the previous days. Everytime I come home from work, I just lay down in my couch. I try to entertain my baby but I feel bad because my energy is just not there.
I kinda like the regular 8am-5pm shift but I guess it takes time for my body to adjust. I can wait but until then, I have to suffer the pain in my head.
I am sorry co-bloggers for not dropping entrecards and not reading your posts. I am just so tired and exhausted. I hope you understand. I will be back soon, hopefully.
