I just want to share this to you. The name of this cake sounds gross but when you taste it, you feel heaven. My co-workers loved it and they asked for the recipe right away. Do you want to give it a try? Here is the recipe:
DUMP CAKE by Jan Grace
Dump into 9x13" baking dish:
1 can crushed pineapple
1 can pie cherries pre-filling
1 package yellow cake mix, dry
Cover with 1 1/2 sticks sliced butter and chopped nuts (or pecan).
Bake 350 degress about 1 hour, till browned.
What I did was I dumped the pineapple crush evenly in the pan first. Then, I dumped the cherry pre-filling evenly on top of the crushed pineapple. I evenly dumped the yellow cake mix on top of the fruit layers. I then added the sliced butter on top of the cake mix. If you want, you can add nuts on top. I did not because my son is allergic to them.
You bake this in a 350 degrees for an hour until browned.

I haven't tried this in years! Thanks for sharing the recipe - I totally forgot about it. Can't wait to try it and show my teen how easy it is to bake.
I've actually been eating dump cake my entire life and it is awesome! We've even done variations on the recipe with canned apple pie filling, pecans and spice cake mix. Mmmmmmm!
