Recently our computer died. Literally. We get absolutely no luck when we try to boot. It is like the hard drive decided just to shut itself off. I was in the process of transferring pictures from hard drive to CD when this happened. The silly thing was not even courteous enough to allow me to get all the pictures off before it kicked the bucket. I have decided that for this I am going to forsake recycling this computer and choose the most inhumane computer disposal method that I can find.

This computer does not to be recycled. Its faithful years of service mean nothing to me. I am going to just get rid of it and make it a huge pile of e waste. I realize that this does nothing to help the environment, but I am in no mood for negotiation. This computer has taken precious memories from me and my family. Memories that I had trusted it with.

For you though, I would highly recommend a green way of disposing your computer. Consider computer recycling as an option when you upgrade, or your computer betrays you by dying. Maybe I should reconsider how I get rid of my piece of crap that has kicked the bucket at a most inopportune time. Perhaps you should try to convince me.

I am so excited. I received our new phones from our phone network today. I got an android and my husband got a smartphone. I can't wait to use mine. I have an LG Optimus. I read good reviews that's why I picked it. I hope it won't fail me. I want to use the hotspot feature in it. I hope I can use it tomorrow. It is still charging right now.

I never knew that there are classrooms nowadays with classroom audio systems. It would have been nice if that technology was available when I was still going to school. I remember being in the classroom one day and not understanding any words uttered by the teacher. When I was asked to stand up to answer a question and did not know what to answer was a huge embarrassment. I was then accused of not listening to her. Ooopppsss...

It would be a great idea for all schools to get classroom amplification equipment for each classroom. Not only will it help the students improve their attention but also help the teacher to not lose her voice. The teacher does not have to raise her voice or repeat instructions. Having this classroom audio technology would surely be a great help to keep the students stay on-task.

My mother and older siblings are teachers so I dream about giving them plenum rated amplifier, speakers, and some other accessories for their classrooms. It would be nice.

It has been a struggle. It is not my personal life thank God but my internet service. Every night after nine o'clock, my internet connection comes on and off then on and off again. I do not know why it happens during the night. I am pretty sure that it is not because of a faulty laptop. When I use this computer at my mother in law's house, the internet connection works perfectly fine.

I use ZIP Broadband as our internet provider. It is really hard to get a hold of them. Recently, I called for another issue and all I got was a voicemail so I left a message. I did not receive a call back. Maybe because the account is under my husband's name. I don't know. I am unsure at this point if it is their product/service that is not serving well or if I just need a new router. I'd hate to buy a brand new router and then it would not change anything.

I was just wondering recently about changing my internet service provider. What if I get a dial-up internet? I searched online and I found this one site called Copper.net. They offer a cheap dial up internet. Their services start at $9.95/month. I pay almost $30 for the internet service I have right now which sucks because of how it has been acting recently. Getting internet three times cheaper sounds like a good deal.

I don't know what my husband is going to think but I guess I need to talk to him about this ASAP. We definitely can use some extra cash.

My husband and I need new cellphones. I guess I don't really need to have a new one. I just want one because it will just be fair that way. He said his cell is beat up that's why I am shopping online right now. My phone provider said we are now eligible for new cellphones for free. I like that. I don't have any plans about changing my cellphone provider because I want to stick to my Family plan (which is pretty inexpensive).

I can't wait to have a new cellphone. I will donate our old cell phones to an organization that gives them to the military.

Recently I started to burn all my pictures to CD. I needed to back them up just in case my 10 year old Dell decides to quit on me. Now after burning disc after disc I find out that we had a stash of DVD-Rs in the basement. The extra storage would have made this process much easier and well using DVD duplicators I could easily make copies of the DVDs to send to my parents.

Now my parents will have to wait until I can get my hands on one of the new CD printers and print pictures of their grandkids directly from the CDs. They are not the most technologically inclined people, and sending them files to print just does not work as well as if I do it for them. They can follow instructions, but it is just easier to print them pictures from here, and send it to them in the Philippines.

Now if I could find them resources and help like this online DVD Duplication Guide, I would feel a lot more comfortable with them doing things themselves. Until there are resources like this available for everything I would need them to do though, I will have to take care of printing pictures of their grandkids for them. I have to admit though, while I am doing this I really am enjoying the trip down memory lane. After all, isn’t that what the pictures are for?

When my husband used to work in Youth Ministry I can remember him sitting at the TV all night with two video tape recorders, or one and a DVD player trying to edit videos to songs using music clips. Some of those nights I had to wonder if he was a Youth Minister or a sailor. It would have been nice if he had a product that allowed him to take the video from the DVD and put it on his hard drive for future editing. That was before the days of products like this DVD Ripper.

Unfortunately my husband is a Mac guy. He would have not have benefited from anything that forced him to work on PC. Luckily this company makes a DVD Ripper Mac. No need for him to work and take up my time on my computer, he could have done it right on his work computer. The really nice thing about working on a Mac is that there is a Video Converter Mac. This would not only allow him to rip the DVD to his hard drive, he could also edit it right there on his computer. No need for any extra software.

The days of video editing with a tape player are long gone. Too bad my husband and I can not get back the hours he spent with a couple of VCRs and his potty mouth. Luckily for you, these products are now available for your use.

I turned the TV on this morning just to start my Monday and I heard the news about Cyber Monday Deals. Hmmmppp...I guess this gives some people who did not shop on Black Friday a chance to get some great deals from the stores. I am one of those people who did not care about Black Friday. There was a lot of stuff going on here with my family recently so shopping was the very last thing in my mind.

I checked my email and again, I received some emails from big online stores reminding me of their Cyber Monday deals. I could not resist so I checked their online stores. One of the online stores I visited was http://www.globalsportsstore.com. They've got great deals with their sporting equipments. I really would love to get my own GPS device because I am so horrible with directions.

I went to http://www.globalsportsstore.com/categories/Garmin/ for the Garmin GPS and the price is actually pretty good. I have to talk to my husband and maybe he'll let me buy this one. I also love the Garmin watches(He is going to hate me...lol)

I was trying hard to earn money online so I joined a website called Amazon Mechanical Turk. It is a decent site that pays you to complete simple tasks like taking surveys, answer multiple choices for some school research, choose the best picture in the group for a photography site, etc. The tasks are called hits. The payment I had for each hit was between $.05 to $2.50. I did that for quiet some time and I earned more or less $40. I was pretty happy until I got a notification from Sprint Network.

I was not sure how or what happened but I received a text message stating that somebody was trying to change the information of my Sprint account online. The text message was asking me if I authorized the change. I was confused because I had not touched that account for years. I called Sprint and asked them what was going on and they said that somebody changed my address from Colorado to Atlanta, Georgia. I was shocked because I have never been to Atlanta. I told them to close my account online as soon as possible. Weeks later, I got a text message again stating that somebody was trying to add a line in my account and ordered a new cell phone. I called Sprint again and they confirmed. Again, a person from Atlanta tried to do it. Sprint was able to stop the transaction but I was still upset because somebody was able to get in my account even though I told them (Sprint) to close it.

Later I realized that while working as an Amazon Mechanical Turker, I gave out my phone number (maybe) and the network I was with. (Shame on me!!!) That person probably figured out how to use that simple information to get my pin to sign in online. Some hits in the Amazon Mechanical Turk actually asked for the IP Address as well. I am glad I never gave that out. I found out recently that some hackers can actually access your computer remotely with just your IP address. I learned that from the movie on Lifetime.

So friends...never give those information out to anyone. I learned my lesson. $40 is not worth it.

What should you get? Satellite TV or Cable TV?

My husband and I love to watch movies or TV shows especially at nights. TV time is like our family time. We own this big flat screen TV so we need a service that can provide good quality or HD type of shows.

We had the choices of owning satellite Dish TV or Cable TV. My husband loves football. In America, it seems everybody loves football. That is their most popular sport. So we had to choose the satellite TV because of the HD Channel and we picked DirecTV for that. They have more HD channels than cable.

What I love about DirecTV are the options and the convenience. If we want more channels then we can choose a more expensive package. When our budget gets tight, we can just change it right away to a less expensive package. We can change it online without the hassle or call their toll free number and it will take effect the next month. We don't have any complaints about their customer service as of yet. So far so good.

What I hate about DirecTV (and Satellite TVs in general) is when the weather gets really bad. When it is raining, windy or snowy, the reception gets so bad and the picture gets shaky or worse...it turns into black/blank. Cable TV doesn't do that.

It was really fun and exciting when we moved into our new house two years ago. We had our new flat screen television attached to the wall, our new couch, refrigerator and washer and dryer delivered and set up. It felt like a dream come true that we finally had our new home.

One day, a door bell noise woke me up from an afternoon nap. I looked to our window and I saw a stranger standing and waiting by the door. Usually, I don't open the door for a complete stranger. I did not open the door. I ignored the ringing.

The ADT guys then gave us some ADT stickers for our windows and a sign for the front of our house. One day, I accidentally opened our back door when the security system was armed, and oh boy, the alarm was so loud I panicked. I was sure that our neighbors heard that very loud alarm noise.

The ADT guys also told us that if we had an emergency, we could call the police or the EMS right away by pressing the buttons on the ADT system equipment. If the alarm had been ringing for a minute, the ADT people would call our phone numbers and if no one answered, they would dispatch a police officer. It actually happened to us once when my husband did not close our door tight enough. It eventually opened triggering the alarm. They called my husband's cellphone and then mine. My husband was sure that it was just a false alarm so he told ADT not to send a police officer to our house. He went back to the house and found out what had happened.
